Build the Path this Summer!

This summer our programs will serve 150 children and teens in Humboldt Park:

  • 45 Citybuilders apprentices serving in Harambee and our Dreambuilders children's program
  • 55 children in our daily Dreambuilders children's program
  • Peacebuilders will be organizing activities for around 50 junior high youth

All this activity is a tangible expression of our deep love for the families of Humboldt Park- and any act of love has a cost.  Our summer programming will cost $169,300- nearly half of our annual budget. Generous givers and grantors have already pledged $91,800: $50,000 of which serves as a matching gift for our benefit goal of an additional $50,000. The remainder is $27,500, a total that will keep our youth safe and learning all summer.

Would you help us reach this goal?

There are countless ways to care for our kids, love our neighborhood, and support our staff to match your skills and availability.

  • We still need a few extra hands during our Dreambuilders program with our children age 4-11. (You are welcome to bring your own children to programs as well!)
  • Mentor a teen: We are always looking for loving and energetic adults who want to invest in one of our youth.
  • Bring Snacks: Encourage our apprentices by stopping by our Harambee job site during morning water break or after work with Gatorade, watermelon or popsicles.
