Apprenticeships offered after school and summer

R City’s Apprenticeship program empowers high school students and young adults through job skills training by engaging them in paid internships during summer breaks and after school program hours.

Current Apprentice Programs:

  • Harambee Tuckpointing Apprentices who learn the masonry skill of tuckpointing on jobsites in the community.

  • Dreambuilders Apprentices who assist as leaders in our children’s programs.

  • Learn the basics of Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) installation and repair through an 8-week training course for ages 16-24.

  • R CITY Print Shop Apprentices design, create, market and sell custom screenprinted apparel.

Mentoring and small group life skills sessions for Citybuilders is provided by Cook County’s Justice Advisory Council.

Upon High School graduation, R CITY apprentices are eligible to apply for funds through our Successbuilders Scholarship Fund.
